The Oklahoma State University Department of Design and Merchandising presents Euphoria: An Orange Carpet Affair. Models will take to the runway April 25 in the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center.

In its 14th year, the show features garments designed and created by upperclassmen
majoring in fashion design and production.

“It’s a showcase of all of the students’ hard work, but it also is a showcase of their
passion and just how much they care about this,” said Mia Chavez, student co-producer
of Euphoria. “Everyone’s collection reflects a little bit of their personality or
something meaningful to them.”

While the focus is mainly on the scholar development of Design and Merchandising students,
it also highlights the program as a whole. Department head Dr. Lynn Boorady said it
is a powerful representation of the university’s academic excellence, creativity and
industry relevance.

“It highlights the strength of the fashion program, demonstrating the caliber of education,
faculty mentorship and hands-on experiences provided to students,” Boorady said. “In
short, it showcases our student talent and innovation, demonstrates their career readiness,
builds community engagement and reinforces OSU’s reputation as a leader in fashion
education.”

To Chavez, the people involved every year are what make the show so impactful on a
personal and scholarly level. The show brings the student body together with industry
professionals, alumni and potential employers who return annually to watch it grow.

“You build this community and these connections with people during the process,” Chavez
said. “And those really do stay with you. It’s a really special thing that we get
to do.”

Now in her senior year, Chavez has been involved with the show for four years. She
described her time in the program as rewarding and something she will always love.

“Every year, I look forward to that very first moment when the show starts and everyone’s
lined up getting ready,” Chavez said. “There’s a lot of buzz in the building with
everyone anticipating the show to start. You just feel all of the nervous energy slowly
going away as it evolves into excitement; it’s a special kind of experience.”

An experience the team behind Euphoria wants to share with everyone. The show will
begin at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7:30 p.m.

General admission and VIP tickets are available for purchase here. General admission tickets are $25, and VIP tickets are $75. VIP tickets grant early
access to the venue for a special reception, including a drink ticket, hors d’oeuvres
and a Euphoria souvenir.

“It’s really unlike any other event on campus,” Chavez said. “It’s student-produced
and student-designed. We would really love your support, and just want to share this
experience with whoever we can.”
