Would you like to be a part of the Family? We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Garment Technician.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will work closely with the Production and Design teams on quality assurance and fit, ensuring that each garment meets Afends standards when it comes to construction, detailing and workmanship.
- Working with the Design Team in the creation and approval of new silhouettes and fits.
- Set up size specs and hand over to suppliers in accordance to the critical path timeline.
- Create point of measure diagrams for each size spec.
- Processing sample commenting following design fits, ensuring critical path deadlines are met.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding outstanding approvals – protos, PS, SMS, PPS and Off Bulk Samples.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding all quality, testing, construction, and fit issues.
- Accurately measure garments for fit sessions – protos, SMS, PPS and Off Bulk.
- Assist in fit sessions for both men’s and women’s along side the designers, communicating all changes and notes to the suppliers
- Assist establish and maintain Afends grading and tolerance standards.
- Assist maintain organised sample library.
- Assist with provide technical guidance to the Product & Design Team.
KEY SKILLS
- Minimum 2 years experience within a similar Garment Technician role or studied.
- Pattern Making experience is highly regarded.
- You must been keen to develop strong technical skills with a focus on product quality, fit and improvements.
- Ability to work within a fast paced team environment.
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to execute duties in the best interests of the company.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills both within a team environment and with international suppliers.
- Competent using Excel, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as an effective team member.
