As a senior member of the product team, you will take a leading role in the growth and development of Deering’s garment production from concept to delivery.
You’re detail-focused, organised, work well under pressure and enjoy being in a fast-paced environment.
This role is integral to ensuring the timely and quality-driven production of our womenswear collections.

You understand the Deering brand philosophy and are driven in delivering the representation of the design vision to the highest standard.

You have demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating, and adhering to timelines. You have a solutions-focused mindset.

DESIGN

  • Creation of tech packs and detailed specifications for each design.
  • Development of new trims in line with seasonal product requirements.
  • Manage approval timelines for lab dips, strike-offs, trims, and bulk fabric confirmations.
  • Communicate counter/PP/shipping sample comments and graded specs to factories.
  • Manage fit sessions and provide feedback to ensure garments meet precise specifications alongside head of design.
  • Raw material and trim sourcing as required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and other CAD software.
  • Strong technical understanding of product development, fabrics, materials, finishes, and print applications.

 

PRODUCTION

  • Manage the workload of development samples in-house or through external machinists and off-shore factories to meet range showing deadlines.
  • Manage and track Counter/PP samples and check on arrival prior to fitting.
  • Monitor and manage production costs within allocated budget (6 month maternity cover only).
  • Raise Purchase Orders for apparel (6 month maternity cover only) and raw material orders.
  • Book production capacity and follow up with suppliers to ensure deadlines are met (6 month maternity cover only).
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Maintain clear communication channels internally and externally to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned.

 

QUALITY CONTROL

  • Conduct quality control checks at all production stages and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • QC bulk production apparel to ensure product is presenting at a high standard.

 

SHIPPING

  • Book and organise freight of bulk goods (6 month maternity cover only).
  • Communicate with warehouse on any late deliveries or issues.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

You must have:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role, with offshore production experience essential.
  • Formal qualifications or relevant experience in production and/or quality control within the apparel industry.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, size specifications, and fitting garments, with experience in both woven and knit products.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel.
  • Proficiency in CAD software
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong multitasking and prioritisation skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to maintaining excellent working relationships.
