For too long art has been exclusive to kids and the art elite. Crockd is on a mission to democratize art and make creative mindfulness a part of people’s everyday lives.
You will help Crockd lead the way for creative mindfulness.
Your role is a blend of daily studio operations and delivering the best possible customer experience. You will work within the ‘Crockd Studios’ team and will report directly to Ana, the Regional Studio Manager, and be guided by our Senior Studio Operations Manager Josh.
Once a month, your regional studio manager will organise a manager meeting where you can share ideas, and pain points and address any upcoming events. They will also organise a separate studio meeting to gather all the hosts and share feedback, upcoming events etc.
Your regional studio manager will work from your studio at least once per week.
- Kiln Turnover Times & KPI’s (Pieces being fired within 4 weeks)
- Ensuring Co-Host tasks are being completed (Keeping Glaze quality high)
- Managing and ordering Inventory: Glazes, Drinks, Glassware, Clay
- Clay Management (recycling of clay, cutting of clay)
- Answering the Phone, assisting with customer ‘walk-ins’
- Organising Pieces for Collection and Glazing Sessions
- Piece Trimming & Coding Wheel Pieces
- Upholding Studio Cleanliness, Organisation and Safety
- Act as the primary guide/assistant during ‘Open Studio’ sessions
- Organising the packing and shipping of pieces as required
- Ensure that we are upholding our liquor license
- Communicate directly with any external contractors (eg, cleaners, kiln maintenance, etc)
- Studio Rostering for both locations
- Managing Customer Satisfaction for all stages of the process:
- During Event – spotless studio with all staff following hosting procedures
- During Glazing – range of glaze options, well-trained staff, high supply
- During Pick Up – avoid damage, fast and high success rate of piece collection
- Ensuring minimal damage to pieces, keeping complaints to a minimum. (This requires coaching staff on teaching methods, stacking methods, and so on)
- Develop a rapport and relationship with students (and encourage your teachers to do this as well!)
- Interviewing new hosts / Sourcing according to Crockd’s Values
- Training them to teach via the ‘Crockd Way’
- Training all the staff to help promote other classes and courses to students
- Creating Canva Studio Training Guides to ensure consistency
- Fostering a space of helpfulness, and community among the team
- Work with the Studio Marketing Manager:

- To ensure that all visual merchandising meets standards (signage, displays etc)
- Ensure any artist collabs and exhibitions are running smoothly (teach the team how to sell and promote the pieces)
