The coolest people at next winter’s après-ski party won’t just be showing off their vintage J.Crew ski sweaters—they’ll also be supporting U.S. Ski & Snowboard athletes as they gear up for the 2026 Winter Olympics and beyond.
J.Crew recently announced a three-year partnership with U.S. Ski & Snowboard, making it the organization’s official lifestyle apparel partner. Inspired by vintage ski logos and archival Olympic patches, the collection will feature sweaters, loungewear, and cold-weather accessories for men, women, and kids. The items will be available at 110 J.Crew stores worldwide and online in the fall of 2025.
Rather than focusing on elite performance gear, the partnership highlights off-the-hill fun and relaxation. U.S. Ski & Snowboard President and CEO Sophie Goldschmidt called the collaboration “an exciting expansion into the fashion and style space for U.S. Ski & Snowboard.”
J.Crew’s Growing Sports Legacy
Ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, J.Crew had a similar partnership with USA Swimming. The company’s limited-edition swimsuits, shorts, shirts, sweatshirts, and hats—embroidered with the USA Swimming logo—embraced a mid-1990s coastal aesthetic. That campaign also highlighted several swimmers’ Olympic journeys, primarily through J.Crew’s social media channels.
“The J.Crew team captured and shared stories that highlighted our swimmers’ dedication and perseverance— inspiring us all,” said Christopher Brearton, chairman of USA Swimming. “We look forward to seeing J.Crew’s collaboration with U.S. Ski & Snowboard come to life and, similarly, elevating America’s finest winter athletes.”
J.Crew’s Return to Alpine Heritage
J.Crew launched in 1983 as J.Crew Outfitters, a mail-order catalog company that quickly defined the preppy aesthetic. Named after an Ivy League sport (rowing, aka crew), the brand sold clothes—like boxy rollneck sweaters and striped rugby shirts—that channeled an aspirational, old-money style akin to Ralph Lauren, but at a more accessible price point.
While J.Crew has faced challenges over the past four decades, it has found renewed success by returning to its roots—creating clothing fit for the beach and the mountains.
“J.Crew has a long-standing connection to alpine culture,” said J.Crew Group CEO Libby Wadle, who successfully led the company out of bankruptcy. “We are thrilled to build on that legacy through our partnership with U.S. Ski & Snowboard.
“With competitive snow sports continuing to grow in the American consciousness, we are proud to celebrate and share the inspiring stories of its athletes—both on and off the mountain—as they prepare for the Olympics next year,” she added.
What’s Next for J.Crew and U.S. Ski & Snowboard?
J.Crew’s partnership with U.S. Ski & Snowboard also includes a financial component, though details have yet to be announced. In its USA Swimming partnership, the company donated to the USA Swimming Foundation, the organization’s philanthropic arm.
The collaboration officially kicks off on March 25 at the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Finals 2025 in Sun Valley, Idaho. At a warming hut in the village, fans can preview select J.Crew pieces and purchase U.S. Ski & Snowboard T-shirts. This will be the first time the season-ending races will be held in the U.S. since 2017. With Mikaela Shiffrin, Lindsey Vonn, and the U.S. Ski Team competing on home snow, ski racing fans won’t want to miss a moment. The 2025 World Cup Finals will be broadcast live on Outside TV.
