Elka Collective is a Melbourne-based label inspired by a desire to create beautifully constructed feminine clothes with a focus on luxurious natural fabrics and unique prints. We design wearable clothing that combines classic tailoring with a relaxed, easy-to-wear Australian aesthetic. The Elka Collective customer seeks quality, fashionable and relaxed garments to fit her lifestyle.

Elka Collective together under the Brand Collective company umbrella and it’s Australia’s leading house of brands boast a portfolio of iconic owned and licensed brands. We have more than 1,200 employees and manage all stages of the product life cycle. This includes managing product design, supply chain, warehousing and distribution as well as a network of wholesale, retail and eCommerce stores. Our product development and marketing teams are world class and have won awards for innovation and customer experience.

As a brand that is seeing significant trajectory, an exciting role has been created to support the further growth of Elka Collective into the future.

Working closely with the design team, this role supports the co-ordination and administration of the design process and assists in the research, design and development requirements for the Elka Collective range.

  • Manage day to day correspondence with factories by addressing any relevant queries
  • Manage fabric sourcing packs to suppliers & lab dip / strike off requests sent to suppliers
  • Prepare print briefs / outsource prints and Allocate style numbers / style names
  • Assist and support design team in end-to-end design process inclusive of garment and accessories specs,
  • Working closely with the Creative Director and designers, support the design and development of the Elka Collective product range in keeping with brand image and option plan guidelines
  • Measure Proto samples
  • Track all incoming prototype samples and fabrics
  • Assist with the preparation and sending of parcels to China
  • Send suppliers all style information / label information / trim details for SMS
  • Request all FOB / MOQ / surcharge / lead time / composition information from suppliers
  • Responsible for management of samples sets across reference samples, salesman samples, proto samples and marketing samples for photoshoots.
  • Additional administrative duties as required to support the Design team
  • Communicate cancelled styles to suppliers and Send suppliers confirmed style information / label information / trim details
  • Bulk fabric / trims approval
  • Ensuring Shipment samples QC check and measured
  • Additional administrative duties as required to support the Design team

 

KEY SKILLS

  • A formal qualification in Fashion Design (desirable)
  • A strong skillset in Adobe Illustrator
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Work experience in a similar role at a similar level
  • Proven experience with off-shore manufacturing processes and strong garment construction/tech pack knowledge.
  • Attention to detail & data integrity
  • Influencing & Negotiating experience
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of organization
  • Ability to prioritise and efficiently manage multiple tasks within set deadlines.
